RAKENROL SHOWING SEPT 21, 2011
At long last, after 5 years in the making, director Quark Henares‘s RAKENROL is finally coming out. The much-anticipated movie is Henares and co-writer Diego Castillo‘s (guitarist of Sandwich and music video director) ode to the Philippine rock music scene, which both consider their home. In the film, Irene (Glaiza de Castro, Grazilda, Amaya) and Odie (Jason Abalos, Endo, Mara Clara) are outsiders who become best friends because of their common love for rock n’ roll. Odie eventually falls in love with Irene, and helps fulfill her dream of forming a band. They recruit an ex-punk-turned-barista named Mo (Ketchup Eusebio, Guns and Roses, My Amnesia Girl) and the school bully Junfour (Alwyn Uytingco, Imortal, Ang Tanging Ina movies), deciding to call their band HAPIPAKS. In the process, Irene is wooed by her “all-time supercrush”, the famous rockstar Jacci Rocha (Diether Ocampo), Will Odie’s love for music and Irene prevail, or will the one thing that brought them together end up destroying them? The supporting characters add color and humor to the cast, with Ramon Bautista as the music video director Flame TigerblĆ¼den, Ricardo Cepeda as a samurai marketing guru, Jun Sabayton as Mo’s artist roommate, Hiyasmin Neri as Junfour’s pregnant girlfriend, and Matet de Leon as… Matet de Leon.

RAKENROL is brought to you by Reality Entertainment, Inc., FURBALL and Postmanila.

Film Review: Zombadings 1: Patayin sa Shokot si Remington (2011)

Just wanna say that this movie was HILARIOUS! I can’t do any formatting of the words HILARIOUS and FUNNY to emphasize the stomach aches I experienced due to excessive laughing brought about by this film. We were on the front seats (THE FIRST ROW) and we just laughed until we can’t laugh anymore. We were clapping so much and dying from laughter. It was so FUN. And the leads are such EYECANDIES. Hope to edit this post and do a proper review or spazz about it. Just can’t get over Kerbie Zamora right now. ā¤ Props to Raymond Lee who wrote the script and Jade Castro who directed the movie. It was a blast!

Zombadings: Patayin sa Shokot si Remington Trailer

I really wanna see this film! I hope it will be released. (hoping eyes)

Zombading: Patayin sa Shokot si Remington is a gay horror-comedy Ā Filipino indie film starring Mart Escudero and directed by Jade Castro. I read about this in a magazine but I can’t find articles on the Internet so I’m not sure if the info I’ll be giving is right. I’ll just type what I remember. Remington (Mart Escudero) is a typical tambay and I think he’s a homophobe. Zombadings (portmanteau of zombies and bading) are roaming in his town and they are passing their curse. Blahblahblah Remington can’t escape his fate to be gay and he’s falling in love with his friend while being in love with a girl. HAHAHAHA! The film also stars Janice de Belen as Remington’s mom and she’a also a police officer so that should complicate things, huh. Eugene Domingo, Lauren Young and Roderick Paulate also stars in this film with Marian Rivera appearing in a cameo role as an albularyo. Heehee. Can’t remember much, I just know that from the looks of it, it’s a really funny film!

I really need to watch this. Stills and poster after the jump!
