Weekly Round-up (24): February 12 – 18, 2018

I’m doing weekly round-ups now, which will include any media I consumed for the past week, from Monday to Sunday. I’d be glad if you end up getting some recommendations but I’m only doing this as a form of a media journal (to make it easy to write reviews later on). And fine, an actual journal too. Here goes!

P.S. I watched almost nothing this week but I blogged a lot (like every weekday) so at least there’s that? I don’t even have a gif from a show I’ve seen. I just saw this on Twitter and laughed aloud and wanted to suddenly start watching Blackpink House after.

~MUSIC~

If you’ve been following the blog, you should have seen me bemoaning how all of the girl groups I liked in the past have disbanded. So here’s a little playlist with some of their hits because I’ve been reliving their glory days for the past week. No 2NE1 though because I love all of their songs okay and I can’t listen to them without getting my heart broken. Honestly. Because I love them. These girl groups I only like but 2NE1, let’s not even go there yet.

~KDRAMAS~

Hwayugi / A Korean Odyssey: I finally saw episode 9 and harumph, I don’t know, it was easy to watch but at the same time, it wasn’t all that exciting too? I was at the doctor’s, waiting for my appointment, and my doctor was late, so I was able to watch it. I wished I had downloaded more Haikyuu!! episodes though because I could have watched that instead of this but this is all I got on my phone.

Buzzcut Love: I forgot to include this in last week’s post! It’s because it’s not on Trakt so I forgot to mark it as watched. Anyway, I didn’t edit my previous post because the two people who’ve seen the post might not see this one if I just edited the post. And I want people to know about this KBS drama special because I’m recommending it! I adore the romance and even though the runtime is short, their emotions and the characters felt lived in and real and I’ve rewatched this one already, that’s how much I like it. Thanks to Laughter in Waikiki for making me notice Kim Jung-hyun. Anyway, Kang Hyeon-jung’s acting reminded me SO MUCH of Kim Seul-gi’s and now since I can’t get a Yoon Doo-joon and Kim Seul-gi reunion, I’m just wishing for a Kim Jung-hyun and Kim Seul-gi pairing. KDrama gods, jebal.

Queen of the Ring: I missed Kim Seul-gi (and her with Doo-joon) SO MUCH that I watched this short drama with her and Ahn Hyo-seop and Yoon So-hee. And, well, I have lots of thoughts about this one so I’ll reserve it for a proper review. But to summarize: Kim Seul-gi is great as always, the others were such snoozefests. The plot was simplistic and I have some qualms about it but overall, I still enjoyed this one. I ended up rewatching Splish Splash Love after watching Queen of the Ring though, even though I just rewatched it PRIOR to watching Queen of the Ring. Hahahuhu Seul-gi x Doo-joon FOREVER.

~ANIME~

Haikyuu!!: I LIKE IT. But I’m so slow in watching it. But I already like the dynamics of the characters and I can really see myself loving this show. Saw episodes 2 and 3 and I just want to watch more but I either forget to download them to my phone or just don’t have time to watch. Huhu.

~BLOG~

I shared Wanna One‘s photos from High Cut Korea and I also lamented the disbandment of the pre-2011 kpop girl groups I loved. Then I finally reviewed my much-adored Buamdong Revenge Club and even shared the recipe for Hee-soo’s seafood ramyun and my version of it!

How about you? What are you watching or reading these days? Any recommendations for me?

  1. Keep on watching Haikyuu – it’s SO GOOD! 😀
One of my favorite anime of all times, that one.
I’m also definitely checking out the dramas you mentioned ^_^
Oh, by the way, random question, but have you watched the anime Akatsuki no Yona or read he manga? I’m obsessed with this one so I’m wondering (:

    1. Hi Zoey!! Thanks for dropping by my blog~

No, I haven’t seen that anime or read the manga. I’ve only seen a few animes actually, in fact, my friends were shocked when I watched Kuroko’s Basketball recently. Because I rarely do so. Hahaha! But I’ll google it now.

Oh, what are you currently watching, kdrama-wise?
