Weekly Round-up (15): November 19 – 25, 2017

I’m doing weekly round-ups now, which will include any media I consumed for the past week, from Sunday to Saturday. I’d be glad if you end up getting some recommendations but I’m only doing this as a form of a media journal (to make it easy to write reviews later on). And fine, an actual journal too. Here goes!

I finally sat down and listened properly to Zion T. and I LOVE HIS MUSIC. It’s so chill and perfect to listen to when you want to space out but not get sleepy. Some songs make me want to groove and sway a bit too. Give him a listen!

Winner over Flowers: Andwaeeeeeeeee, I don’t want it to end. Nothing much happened in the third episode in terms of visiting tourist-y spots and doing tourist-y things but it was more like character development in terms of a story. We get to know the WINNER members more in the third episode and I just adore them so much. I love how mature they are in solving arguments and their happiness about this trip just feels so pure and palpable. SO CUTE MAH BOYS

We Got Married: This week has been ALL ABOUT We Got Married. I was so obsessed with Gong Myung and Jung Hye-sung’s We Got Married stint that I still rewatch clips until now. So how did I end up watching them? I saw that a new episode of Law of the Jungle was up so I got curious about the show as I’ve been hearing it. Reading the show’s Wiki page, I saw that Gong Myung was a guest for some time. I’ve always been curious about Gong Myung as I’ve read on Dramabeans that he was adorable in Drinking Solo but that they wish he gets better projects as Bride of the Water God and Revolutionary Love are both meh. So I tried searching for some of his Law of the Jungle clips on Youtube, only to see his clips from We Got Married. AND THEN I LEARN THAT HIS PARTNER WAS JUNG HYE-SUNG AND I QUEUED IT RIGHT IN.

I’ve loved Jung Hye-sung ever since I saw her in Chief Kim, with her portrayal of a character who should sometimes feel quite annoying but is just so plain adorable and hard-headed. She was so cute in there. Anyway, GOOD LORD THIS COUPLE. So much skinship! And they’re SOOOOO cute because Gong Myung tries to be a ~sangnamja~ and take charge but Hye-sung is so straightforward and blunt that he just ends up shy and flustered. My favorite bits are when he goes all swoony but somehow he ends up being the one flustered because Jung Hye-sung also does something sweet or cute or what. GAH THIS COUPLE SERIOUSLY.

My officemate also gave me a rec (since I asked for it) and that is to watch Eric Nam and MAMAMOO’s Solar’s We Got Married so I did and they’re cute! Not in the way that Gong Myung and Jung Hye-sung are cute but they’re just fun to watch. Not a lot of skinship and they feel more like friends but it’s still fun to watch. I’ve liked Eric Nam as a singer and as a We Got Married panel so it was nice to see him as the husband this time around. I admit to not knowing MAMAMOO at all so I’m not entirely excited about Solar but I like her personality. So bright and she completely lacks pretentiousness. I haven’t finished their run though.

This Life is Our First / Because This is My First Life: I CANNOT DEAL WITH THE ANGST. I admit to not livestreaming episode 14 and instead I went out with my friends because I knew the angst was coming (and because I really wanted to drink that day). Although, I did regret it because SWOON-HEE. I ended up overcompensating and just rewatching this week’s episodes and overdosing myself with behind-the-scenes clips because ANDWAEEEEEEEEEE DO NOT END, SHOW, PLEASE STAY FOREVER

Buamdong Revenge Club / Avengers Social Club: I started this last Sunday and I ADORE IT TO PIECES. In fact, just read my post about the first four episodes because I’m too lazy to repeat myself in here. Haha! I do wish I got to watch more episodes this week though but We Got Married took a hold of me. I was planning on finishing it as subs of the finale week episodes came out so let’s just blame Gong Myung and Jung Hye-sung on me not being able to binge this one. WILL DO ASAP! As soon as Gong Myung and Jung Hye-sung let go of their hold on me. Hahaha!

Last Minute Romance: I did watch this web drama! I had low expectations but I was so surprised with the quality and how much I liked it! I’ve written a review for this already and it’ll be posted this coming Tuesday so look out for that!

A Person You Could Know / Someone You Might Know: And I also watched this web drama! I feel so proud and accomplished of my choices this week because this web drama was so good! I’m reviewing it alongside Last Minute Romance this coming Tuesday so please keep your eyes peeled for that!

Murphy’s Law of Love: Erm, I ended up only seeing half of an episode this week. Blame it on all the web dramas and on We Got Married!

Mr. Robot: SO BLEAK. That episode was not good for my general disposition. Everyone was miserable. Rami wasn’t in the episode as much but the whole cast is just really superb and the writing too because I didn’t really care much because I wanna know what’s going on with everyone. Whiterose is sooooo evil! I’m panicking a bit because we only have three more episodes and I don’t know what’s gonna happen but I’m sure I’ll end up tortuously waiting for the next season. Heh.

I shared my thoughts on the first four episodes of Buamdong Revenge Club as well as Suzy’s photos for High Cut Korea Vol. 210!

How about you? What are you watching or reading these days? Any recommendations for me?
