Weekly Round-up (14): November 12 – 18, 2017

I’m doing weekly round-ups now, which will include any media I consumed for the past week, from Sunday to Saturday. I’d be glad if you end up getting some recommendations but I’m only doing this as a form of a media journal (to make it easy to write reviews later on). And fine, an actual journal too. Here goes! (I posted this and I ended up deleting it, thinking it was a draft because the WordPress app on my phone sycned and made it a draft and so I had to retype everything HUHUHUHU.)

~MUSIC~

I stumbled upon this playlist on Spotify and one of my favorite things to do is singing in the shower so OF COURSE I WOULD FOLLOW A PLAYLIST MADE EXACTLY FOR THAT. I love the songs in here and I’ve been singing to them in the shower this week. I’ve loved “I’m Gonna Be (500 Miles)” by The Proclaimers since hearing it years ago but hearing it every day was definitely good for my mood. And I even learned it on the uke!

~KOREAN VARIETY~

Winner over Flowers: Still the highlight of the week for me! Gah, I just love these boys. And I watched this one multiple of times too but it still brings so many smiles on my face every time. They also made me crave a burger at seven in the morning! I just love seeing them happy to be free and taking a vacation. They’ve been working so hard. And I laughed so hard during their volleyball game. They’re just such failures in other things. HAHAHA

This week actually was pretty much about stanning Mino bb and WINNER. I’ve been watching random variety show episodes with them as guests or hosts.

Radio Star: I watched the episode with Mino as the special MC and I just felt so bad for him! He was so awkward in it and out of place because most of the guests/MCs were his dad’s age and the topic was so far out of his comfort zone. Bb couldn’t shine and you can see he can’t shake off being too polite because they remind him of his dad! Thankfully, the actual episode and the guests and the topic were fun so I didn’t feel like I wasted my time watching it with the limited amount of Mino in it. It was about bachelors age 40+ and their stories are so amusing!

I also watched the episode where Mino was the guest and that’s where the gif at the top came from. I will always love Mino doing aegyo. This was a fun episode too, and bb got to shine.

Oppa Thinking / Thinking of My Bias: I watched the episode with WINNER as guests and I LOVE THESE BOYS SO MUCH. This episode was so fun! Mino looking like a grandma sewing in there and Yoon was such a badass (and so hot) playing billiards. He really focuses when he’s doing something! I do wish Hoony got more screentime because I’m sure he would have been great. I hope with their stint in Winner over Flowers, Hoony gets more variety show appearances. The MCs were so fun too and I just enjoyed this whole episode so much.

I wasn’t able to watch the fifth episode of Master Key with Mino in it yet. Huhu. And the second part of Super Junior’s stint in Weekly Idol. Soon!

~KDRAMAS~

This Life is Our First / Because This is My First Life: Miracles can be made AKA I livestreamed the episodes even if I was in the province with crappy Internet. AND IT WAS SO WORTH IT GOOD LORD. I was screaming with that kiss. I even downloaded a clip off Youtube so I can rewatch it again and again. SWOON-HEE IN THE HOUSE, YO. And good lord, Lee Min-ki in those ahjumma pants making kimchi was too funny. This show is just killing me with how extraordinarily good it is that I want the next episode but I also don’t want them because I can’t part with the show. There are only two weeks left and ANDWAEEEEEEEEE I DON’T WANT TO LET GO CAN THIS JUST GO ON FOREVER

While You Were Sleeping: Since it was finale week, I was hoping to marathon the show in time for the finale. But I only got until episode 5 then I just lost interest in it. Maybe it was because I’ve already seen episode 6. (I rewatched from the first episode.) Or maybe it was because I livestreamed This Life is Our First that night and then had no energy for anything else except watching that kiss. So While You Were Sleeping, once again, took the backseat. So sorry, Show, huhuhu but please do a better job holding my attention? Or should I just watch you when This Life is Our First is done? But then I will then be distracted by another drama. KEEP ME WATCHING, SHOW. I really liked you at first and I’m sorry I let you go but let’s work on this?

Meloholic: Add this to the list of the random things I do that I’m not sure are worth the time. Haha! Just check out the recap I posted for my thoughts on this!

~TWDRAMAS~

Murphy’s Law of Love: So I didn’t touch this one for days then I binged it until the twentieth episode. I forgot that that’s how I roll with this show and most twdramas I watch. Once you start, you can’t stop! It’s just so compellingly watchable. However, I got bummed because I didn’t expect myself to finish until episode 20 so I didn’t download more. Only to be yearning for the next episode. I think I might be able to finish it next week? It’s been 10 episodes a week for me, it seems. And now that I only have 11 episodes left and it’s the final thirds of the show, I’m pumped to finish a drama! Although I’m still afraid that the second lead might wreak havoc late in the game. Hopefully not!

~TV~

Mr. Robot: THIS SHOW. I thought last week’s episode was so tense and anxiety-inducing but this episode was just shocking. I knew it’s too good to be true, that’s there’s a catch. Elliot can’t just be happy and successful, right? BUT I DIDN’T KNOW IT WAS OF THAT GRAVITY. This episode was SO SO tense and the cinematography makes you feel like you’re in it with them. GAH, I want the next episode but also not because when this season ends, it’s gonna be a year of waiting again. Huhuhu.

~BLOG~

I recapped and shared my thoughts on the first episode of Meloholic!

~BOOKS~

I started reading We Are All Completely Beside Ourselves by Karen Fowler and I’m halfway through it too! I only read it when I feel like it and so far it’s good. And I hope I can finish it so my reading slump would finally end.
