Because I’m me, I wasn’t able to schedule any posts for the time that I was away. I was actually in South Korea last week (October 15 to 21)! Anyway, so this weekly round-up would be three weeks worth because I had the draft ready for last last week (before I went to Korea) but I wasn’t able to finish it. So I’m dumping all updates in here! Continue reading “Weekly Round-up (11): October 8 – 28, 2017”→
Epik High has released a new album after three years last Monday entitled WE’VE DONE SOMETHING WONDERFUL and has gone on to snag ALL of the #1 spots in ALL of the music charts in South Korea. And rightfully so because the album is so good, as expected of them. The lyrics, the musicality. I cried, okay. Under the cut are three more photos from this shoot for High Cut! …how I go home early now that I have a car. I always thought that since I now have my own car, I could go home whenever I want to. I don’t need to think of until what time jeeps are available or if I have to change routes if there are no more jeeps at a certain time. I don’t have to be afraid every time I hail a cab to go home if I’m too drunk. Having a car means I can now go home whenever I want.
But it’s the complete opposite. Since I park inside our gated apartment, I have to be early so I could park without anyone blocking the gate. It’s such a hassle when I go home late and someone has parked in front of the gate because I have to match the car to its owner and go a flight of stairs and ask the car’s owner to move his/her car so I can park inside. I always feel like a douche whenever I hassle people over parking my car.
So I go home early. So even if I have to ask someone to move their car, it’s still early and they’re most likely awake still. Not only that, but having a car meant I also go to work earlier. Going in at 10AM doesn’t cut it anymore because I don’t have any parking space left by that time. I have to go in early.
This post has no point but to share my observation, which I find ironic. “Having a car means freedom!” Nope. Not for me. Although it is very convenient to not have to wait in line for jeeps especially when it’s raining. Or book an Uber worth two liters of gasoline, which could serve me for days if I drove my own car. I also don’t arrive to work sweaty and I can listen to the songs I want on full blast. I never thought I’d like driving (oh goodness, the anxiety and stress of learning) but I actually do. Unless it’s parking my car, which still stresses me the fuck out. But whenever I’m driving, it’s just so peaceful. I have time alone for myself, which I know I supposedly get loads of but I’m living with my sister so I don’t really have time ~alone~.
I like driving. I hope it likes me someday too. Especially parking. Haha!
Since Falsify ended, I haven’t had a Monday-Tuesday kdrama yet. I know, I’ve seen Lingerie Girls’ Generation in the interim but I made the grave mistake of not following it week per week and just binged it the weekend before finale week. So I couldn’t say that I’ve followed that drama. But that’s gonna change right here because whatever happens, whether it’s good or bad or middling, I’m gonna livewatch (and even livestream) This Life is Our First [Because This is My First Life]. If you haven’t noticed, I’ve been sharing its promotional materials and I even made a Youtube playlist of everything tvN releases about it. I AM SO READY FOR THIS SHOW. (Spoiler alert: I’m hooked!) [Also, this post has been long overdue. It was supposed to be up two weeks ago but I got so busy with my SoKor trip cramming for the itinerary that I wasn’t able to blog anymore. Gah. Sorry for being me. Hahaha!]
It was Yoo Ah-in’s birthday last Friday so I thought of finally reviewing these two movies of his that I’ve seen. I’ve loved Yoo Ah-in since 2010, when he made everyone suffer from Second Lead Syndrome in Sungkyunkwan Scandal. I was even a contributor for one of his international fan sites. (I tend to be obsessive, okay.) BELATED HAPPY BIRTHDAY, OPPA!!! (Forgive me for being late. Huhu. This was supposed to be posted last Friday but I got so busy and I wasn’t able to finish the reviews.)
I’m doing weekly round-ups now, which will include any media I consumed for the past week, from Sunday to Saturday. I’d be glad if you end up getting some recommendations but I’m only doing this as a form of a media journal (to make it easy to write reviews later on). And fine, an actual journal too. Here goes! (Posted a day late because I got so busy last week that I couldn’t even finish this weekly round-up post!) Continue reading “Weekly Round-up (10): October 1 – 7, 2017”→
Another month has ended so I’m here to share the songs I’ve been into the past month. Here’s a Spotify playlist to make it easy for you!
The songs here are mostly by artists I already like and follow, such as Demi Lovato, ZAYN, Sia, Niall Horan (album this October!), Dagny, WALK THE MOON (NEW ALBUM THIS NOVEMBER NOPE I’M NOT HYPERVENTILATING YOU ARE), and BØRNS among others. Dagny’s “Wearing Nothing” has been on constant repeat recently and I also got Sarah into it. Hahaha! The playlist even has its acoustic version and a remix. Basically, I can listen to it again and again.
I finally got around to listening to Dua Lipa and YES, I LOVE THE GIRL AND HER MUSIC. And to Lauv as well. New discovery c/o Sarah on IV Of Spades, a Filipino band. LISTEN TO THEM!!!
If you’ve been following my weekly round-ups, the songs I usually spotlighted every week are in here, like Kang Seungyoon’s You. Yes, it looks like Korean songs will now always be in my playlists. I’M BACK, KPOP! Hahaha. Two songs from the My Secret Romance soundtrack are also there because there was a night I got into kdrama OSTs and I listened to those two again and again because Y SO CUTE
Also, not in there are Taeyang and G-Dragon’s songs because I had playlists of their concert setlists so I listened to them separately. But I listened to them A LOT this September since they had their concerts and I SAW THEM!!!! SUCH SUPERSTARS SO GREAT SO TALENTED SO GOOD
Anyway, please do share what you’ve been listening to recently. Don’t be a grouch! Share good music!
