Weekly Round-up (5): August 27 – September 2, 2017

I’ll never forget this image. How can Korean variety shows think of such ingenious games and punishments? HAHAHA

I’m doing weekly round-ups now, which will include any media I consumed for the past week, from Sunday to Saturday. I’d be glad if you end up getting some recommendations but I’m only doing this as a form of a media journal (to make it easy to write reviews later on). And fine, an actual journal too. Here goes!

After watching Taeyang and Minho’s episode of Knowing Bros, I ended up obsessed with this 2014 song after Taeyang performed it so perfectly and beautifully. GAH And of course I got into their collab Fear once again. Couple that with preparing and getting myself hyped for GD’s concert, all I listened to this week were YG artists. Haha!

Even though GD’s concert is over, I’m still listening to the setlist because FEELINGS RELIVING THEM ALL

Knowing Bros Episode 90: I was a bit tipsy last Monday night/Tuesday early morning then I suddenly thought of Knowing Bros. I know I said I don’t like the show but I was curious who their guest was after SNSD. So I searched for it and LO AND BEHOLD, THEIR GUEST WAS TAEYANG AND MINO. MINO BB I’VE MISSED YOU SO. I immediately searched for clips on Youtube and I watched them and rewatched them until 3AM or so. I also refreshed and refreshed for the subbed episode because it’s been days! The BLACKPINK episode felt like it was subbed right away. THIS IS TAEYANG AND MINO, YOU GUYS. When I woke up, I ended up refreshing and refreshing and I FINALLY GOT TO WATCH IT AT LUNCH. And again at 5PM. And again with my sister at night. AND I’VE BEEN REWATCHING AND REWATCHING MY FAVORITE PARTS. I love this episode because Taeyang got to shine and Mino is really showing himself as a great variety persona. That Dongsaeng World Cup is so good. Just, love this episode so much! I now realize that I think I like when there are only two guests, I guess? And I think I might still watch Knowing Bros if I like the guests.

And of course I’ve been rewatching clips of New Journey to the West every day because WITHDRAWALS HUHUHU

By the way, I’m thinking of watching Family Outing. I’ve wanted to watch it years ago, before the second season started even, but ended up not doing it. Since it seems like I have time before the fifth season of New Journey to the West airs or WINNER’s Youth Over Flowers, I feel like I need to distract myself with some old school variety shows.

Falsify: I’ve finally caught up with Falsify!!! YAAAAAYYYYY! I’ve seen two weeks worth of episodes in one night then this week’s episodes the day after. I can’t believe we only have two weeks left with Falsify. I feel like it’s passing by too quickly? Maybe because I also binged three weeks worth of episodes this week. Anyway, I like this drama but it’s just not reaching love/crack level. Which kinda makes me feel sad but then I guess you can’t always have a crack drama. As I’m watching Falsify, I’m riveted to it. But when the episodes are over, I end up almost forgetting what happened. I just don’t have an emotional connection with the drama.

Ao Haru Ride (2014): I loved the anime last year and felt so shortchanged because WHERE IS THE SECOND SEASON YOU CANNOT END THERE HELLO. While googling if there’s a second season already, I discovered that the day after the anime ended, a live adaptation film premiered. WHY DIDN’T I KNOW THAT???? So of course I watched it and I LOVED IT. Masahiro Higashide was so handsome I ended up being obsessed with him and I plan to see his other movies too. He felt a little green (honestly, some of his emotions didn’t come across well so he looked constipated???) but he really resembled the anime!Kou. I was a bit iffy that Tsubasa Honda didn’t look like Futaba but that qualm was squashed so quickly because she was great! Gah, I really like this film and I feel like I’ll be rewatching this one someday soon.

I started Geekerella by Ashley Poston but I’m still hit with a slump and haven’t touched it since. T_T

Y’ALL, my feature submission was posted at Dramabeans! I was so happy I was smiling the whole day. I literally squealed when I saw my article posted. EEEEEEEKKKK. It’s a piece about rewatching Soulmate, a kdrama that premiered in 2006.

I also posted the songs I listened to last July and August.

How about you? What are you watching or reading these days? Any recommendations for me?
