Probably the only reason I haven’t cancelled my Netflix subscription yet is because of Stranger Things. (Let’s be real though, I will never be able to quit Netflix even if I’m jobless like now because TV is LIFE.) I loved the first season and in fact, I watched it a total of THREE TIMES in a span of two weeks?? Something like that. It was just so compulsively watchable that I remember sleeping at 7AM just to finish it all. (Pro-tip: Do not start watching a series at midnight.) Admittedly, what initially hooked me was these kids playing Dungeons and Dragons because I play D&D myself. But each episode was more gripping than the previous and I was unstoppable as I queued an episode right after the other. IT IS JUST THAT GOOD. What made Stranger Things even more fun for me was watching it again with my friends, most of which also play D&D with me, and discussing it and loving it altogether.
THIS IS SO NOT PART OF MY PLAN! I wasn’t supposed to watch While You Were Sleeping. For one, I am not a big fan of Lee Jong-seok. Don’t brick me, I think he’s a good actor but I’m not following each and every project he makes. Second, Suzy. We all know she isn’t a talented actress so I don’t exactly look forward to her dramas. And lastly, I gave it a chance and checked out the teasers and the trailer but I wasn’t enticed by them. So I was set to pass on this one. But here I am, telling you my thoughts on While You Were Sleeping‘s premiere week. Life is indeed full of surprises.
For this round, I’ll be talking about two Korean web dramas with WINNER members as leads. (I am getting too deep into this fandom.) I’ve seen both on the same week and I can’t promise that I won’t compare their acting abilities. Still, I love both members, okay. My thoughts on these web dramas under the cut!
With an upcoming drama this October 9 in This Life is Our First (Alternative Title: Because This is My First Life), Lee Min-ki and Jung So-min are doing the publicity rounds and one of this is posing for Marie Claire Korea for their October 2017 issue! Lots of photos under the cut! (LOVE THESE TWO)
I’m doing weekly round-ups now, which will include any media I consumed for the past week, from Sunday to Saturday. I’d be glad if you end up getting some recommendations but I’m only doing this as a form of a media journal (to make it easy to write reviews later on). And fine, an actual journal too. Here goes! It’s an EXO edition for this film review post! There was a night when Lianne and I saw both movies one after the other. She watched for Chanyeol and I was there for Kyungsoo (D.O.). My thoughts on both movies are under the cut!
Pretty much what it says in the title. Photos I’ve saved recently~
Or basically an excuse to post this goofy Sung Hoon gif. I seriously feel like he’s actively destroying and shedding his cool guy image. And I’m all for it! His stint in I Live Alone was too real. His real self seems to be well-suited for variety shows. SUNG HOON IN MORE VARIETY SHOWS PLEASE
I binged Ex-Girlfriend Club last June (I know, I am very late with writing about what I’ve seen, hence the creation of my weekly round-ups) after reading and getting convinced by javabeans’ review on Dramabeans. It was a low-commitment series, with only 12 episodes. It’s also available on iflix so it was easily accessible. So how was it? My thoughts on the show under the cut!

If you prefer listening rather than reading, I also recorded me reading what I’ve written below. Sorry for the noise though, I forgot to turn off my fan + I’m always moving.
