Top Ten Tuesdays #1: Top Ten Books On My Summer TBR List

I’m into post series right now so I’m joining Top Ten Tuesdays, a weekly meme by The Broke and the Bookish. I hope I can do this given my short attention span and tendency to put things off or run away from stuff to do.

So this week’s top ten is Top Ten Books On My Summer TBR List. Admittedly, summer is over here in the Philippines so this shouldn’t apply to me anymore. But I am of the belief that summer, or at least summer vibes and themes, is Β yearlong. I love summer books and I love summer music and I read and listen to these even if the rain is pouring. So today, I am listing my top ten summer books or books that I wished I read last summer. Enjoy!

1. The Perks of Being a Wallflower by Stephen Chbosky

What better way to gear up for the movie but read this! Plus it’s all about a freshman in college and the freshman year reminds me of the easygoing life, so summer! Plus, the copy I borrowed has a colorful cover, which I deem perfect for summer.

2. The Happiness Project by Gretchen Rubin

It’s summer and you have nothing to read so what better book to read than what will make you a generally happier person? I admit I’ve been getting sad recently so I borrowed this book to lift up my spirits.

3. Warm Bodies by Isaac Marion

Another preparation for the movie. Plus, it’s sitting on my downloads folder for so long. Summer is all about love, they say, so a zombie romance is definitely a must-read.

4. Past Perfect by Leila Sales

I heart stories about second chances and this one is set to summer so perfect!

5. Stupid Fast by Geoff Herbach

Though I love my heroines, it’s so nice to read a YA book with a male character. And this book is just it. From joke to jock, what a great subtitle.

6. Graffiti Moon by Cath Crowley

What is it with bad boys and graffiti artists? Wouldn’t it be awesome if that graffiti artist you’re obsessed with is that guy who’s always around? Swoon.

7. Getting Over Garrett Delaney by Abby McDonald

I also dig books about getting over someone or something so yey!

8. Easy by Tammara Webber

I’ve heard good things about this book so in it goes to the TBR pile.

9. Monument 14 by Emmy Laybourne

I’ve also heard nothing but raves about this book so I want to check it out.

10. Memoirs of an Imaginary Friend by Matthew Green

And lastly, I want to end with something not so shallow and this just fits right in.

So what’s yours?

  1. Great list, some of these I hadn’t heard of, but I ended up enjoying Warm Bodies although I’d not read Zombie books before, and that made it easier for me to read Ashes…which isn’t as tame as Warm Bodies, it’s actually very scary, but I guess once I broke through the creepiness of reading about brain gore I got less wimpy.

    1. I actually started reading Warm Bodies and I am enjoying it. It wasn’t I expected (I thought it was really gory) but I’m liking it so far. Hope to finish it soon and share with you (and everyone) what I thought of the book. πŸ˜€ Thank you for dropping by and commenting. Comments are like power drinks to us bloggers. ❀

    1. Aaaawww, thank you so much! I didn’t choose the books by their covers but this set of covers is definitely visually stimulating. Thank you for dropping by and hugs from me in the Philippines too! Would check yours because I know you do! πŸ˜›

  2. Ooh so many books on this list that I want to read also – like The Perks of Being a Wallflower …. before the movie comes out. Also loved Warm Bodies! Hope you get to all these books and enjoy them all πŸ™‚

    1. Me too! I wanna grab these books and just read them nonstop. Sad thing is I have school and thesis so yeah. On hold. But I do plan on finishing them all by September. I must. I need to! Thank you so much for dropping by and will check your list too! πŸ˜€
